Hot Springs in Utah
Utah's geothermal activity runs along the Wasatch Front and through the western desert basins, where deep faults push heated groundwater to the surface. Fifth Water Hot Springs near Spanish Fork is the most visited. A canyon hike leads to blue-green mineral pools fed by a warm waterfall. Meadow Hot Springs in central Utah is quieter: three deep, clear pools in open ranchland, one dropping into a volcanic crater. Baker Hot Springs near Delta sits in spare Great Basin desert, a different feel entirely.
Most springs are on BLM land and free to access. Utah's dry climate keeps trails passable year-round, though Fifth Water can ice up in winter (bring traction devices). The arid conditions keep pool water clean, and dissolved minerals give many of these springs their turquoise color.
